What were you thinking?

In societies both past, present and future humans have done fair in the field of communications. And I  refer to everyday life not what I'm about to pen for your education.

One aspect of communication that seems not to weather a storm well is as follows:
Communication in jails and prisons has its own codes, for lack of a better term or phrase. In fact ones body language, behavior and mannerisms comes right down to life and death. That's right, you heard me right. Say the wrong thing, act the wrong way, even look at someone cross eyed and you could find yourself in a body bag.

Case in point; in Jackson Prison in Jackson Michigan in the mid 1980's one person took offense to what  another inmate said. Later, and with no witness per see the one inmate fell four stories to his death. The guards did not know who did it and or why but every inmate on that cell block  and even a couple cell blocks over had a good idea what transpired and by whom. Of course no inmate stepped forward as a witness as they did not want the same fate.

In prison, and what should be in society as you know it, you should act like Teflon. No matter what people say or do when your not around is not of your concern. Thus you ought to let what people say and do simple slide off you like eggs in a Teflon pan.

Your actions matter and have side effects. Your actions, your words follow you from society to jails and to prisons. Furthermore, your actions can cause harm and injury to the extent where you will not like what transpires.
Case in point:
In prison if you don't pay your depts you will experience problems that may lead to your  demise.
In Michigan, one inmate racked up a sizeable debt and he simply refused to pay up in any manner that was suggested. A few weeks later at movie night his throat was cut from ear to ear. By the time medical help came it was to late. He paid the debt that could have been avoided from the get go.

People beyond prison walls and prison cells are to easily offended.

Your offended if a tee shirt says the wrong thing.  Big deal!

Your offended because the president didn't do something you liked....Big deal

Your offended because a bakery wouldn't make your special cake or they made a mistake.
Again big deal. 
Find a different bakery or bake one yourself.

Your getting offended over the wrong things in life.

You have every right to be offended but is being offended going to come down to a someones death?
