Make A Wish Make A Wish

Picture yourself a single person, not a bad life right? Eat when you want, sleep when you want, that is if your not working. Now, picture yourself also with no family; no mom, no dad, no brothers or sisters, no one to argue with right?

Now its the holidays; you know Thanksgiving and Christmas? A time to be merry and bright, right?  But lets face it that merry and bright departed when you found yourself alone. Then you ask yourself, "why put up the decorations  when only you will see them?" That makes no sense right? Plus you need to find a way to curb that energy bill, right?

Thats why this 2017, yours truly, created a I Wish page for all to see and use. On the page you will see its broken down into various categories, to make it a little easier to use. All except one refer back to my Amazon account where you, the reader, can choose which gift you want to bless me with. From DVD's to household and garden ideas I tried to put everything there thats wanted. or needed around the house.

What's nice about this page is it works not only for the holidays but birthdays or just thinking about you type days.

So... What you say want to help make a wish come true for one fellow who is single and retired?

If you do happen to make a wish come true. I know you would make this writter one happy person

Alone?

Do you remember the movie Home Alone?
Well for single people thats what Christians is like for million of single people. They sit at home on Christmas day perhaps eating a simple tv dinner while watching either some movie or watching a sporting event. What about family members? Well if you have family they might invite you over for a home cooked meal. However, if your the last one in the family Christmas can be  an welcomed guest.
The latter aspect is true for this writer. So, every Christmas its a simple microwaveable tv dinner and a little time for a movie from the DVD collection. And forget the Mincemeat Pie not one grocery store sells them. So my favorite pie and ice cream go by the wayside like other traditions.

How can you help?

#1.    Adoption:  thats right adopt a single person for the holidays. treat him like family.
#2.   Gift Givingfind out what he or she likes and make an effort to give them a few gifts, Some people might even make a Christmas Wish list right over there on Amazon
#3.    Food: NO person should spend the holidays alone even at meal time. If you treat him or her like family find out what foods s/he likes such as does he or she like apple pies, cherry pies or maybe even mince meat pies. Maybe a person likes ham instead of turkey. Taking someone out to a restaurant does not count as it make the person feel like an outsider!
#4.   Games & TV  if your family plays games then be sure to invite him or her to play. If your family watches a sporting even invite them to watch with you.

Church idea: perhaps in October your church could have a Adoption Day. A family adopts a known single person for the holidays where all of the above could be put into play.

Remember to treat him or her like family.

What you dont know about.....

By this time you already know a little about Thunderdome Ministries Network Inc. In fact you are reading material right from the pen of the founder  and CEO of the ministry. So allown me to pin point a few things for you as the year starts drawing to a close.

#1. The ministry is faith based.
#2. The ministry is not a 401c3 non profit ministry. Yet we sell nothing to raise funds. If the ministry needs it then the money comes out of my own pocket. It has been this way dating all the way back to  the Spring of 1982.
#3. The ministry does have a small staff consisting of only three men of God. No more no less.
#4. The ministry has its own website hosted Yola  in fact you can find the website at   http://thunderdome-ministries.yolasite.com, We do have at least two mirror sites that I find important in keeping graphics and any ideas.
#5. All websites, both personal and ministry wise, are created by yours truly.. There is no outside agency that assists in this project.
#6. In the past we would ask on Facebook and in this blog for financial assistance. However well meaning it did not fully pan out as planned. We do keep a GoFundMe account
#7. Did you know that yours truly has preached in assisted living homes. in prison and as of a week ago even in churches.  Yes I do know how to teach, preach and prepare sermons. In fact some sermons can be found on the ministry website and at Littlethunders Castle
And yes i am available to share Gods Word in your church here in the United States . Simple call or text me @ 248-295-1365
#8. Yours truly was mentored by the late Pastor Richard Eugene Blue of Waterford Michigan for the duration of some 26  wonderful years.

Now that you heard a little about Thunderdome Ministries Network inc I wonder if you perhaps would like to assist with a love gift. If so see above wher you read a bit about GoFundMe and click that on.

Thank you for your time today. Come back soon.

PS

If you prefer to send a love gift  via snail mail the address is located below. Make any funds for the ministry out to....

Website tips

So your heart to see what is fresh off the press per se. So for the next few minutes let's talk about your website and or blog OK?

For the sake of argument let's pretend you are new to creating websites. Let's throw in the mix that your website involves your business. Here is some tips to sparkled your site.
Thanksgiving and Christmas is quickly approaching what do you do to get people interested in your website.
#1. Realize that within the first 5-10 seconds you have to wow them without killing them.
#2. Good graphics (jpg and gif) are key. Using jpg and gif are long standards. But using flash these days are used mostly by big named business like Ford and Dodge. So keep it simple.
#3. Keep your website balanced. To many of decorations are a turn off and you lose that potential customer.
#4. Get ideas by visiting other websites. See what they are doing and put the information in your brain for later use.
#5. Personally I use a general holiday theme. Why? Because a good website takes about 2 weeks to be turned over to a different holiday theme. The phrase "Happy Holiday" may seem on the harsh side but it covers not only Thanksgiving and Christmas but Happy New Year as well.
#6. Using gif pictures as a border may seem like a sweet idea but it is NOT.  Why? It removes the visitors eyes from the content of the website. Either simply use jpgs or no border whatsoever.
#7. Knowing html coding is important. It allows you freedom in creating a website.
One example would be the useage if a marquee.
#8. If you do not have a collection of graphics take a few days collecting graphics legally!  There are websites that offer free graphics.
#9. If you plan on separating holiday graphics your website ought to be done by November and December 10th the 15th at the largest.
#10. Lastly, backup the website before you do holiday decorations. This will ensure that you will have a completed website before and after the holidays.

Hope the above is of help to you as we approach the happiest part of the year.
