Allow me to begin this properly;
I am not alone, there are other just like me here in the United States. We are disabled legally by our doctors and by a law judge. We are not looking for a hand out as many of us would love to go back to work but our disabilities put us at risk.
Here in the united States the disabled are given medical care and food by way of what some know as Bridge Cards or Food Stamps. We don't like this as much as the public the other means are to ugly to suggest.
What is it like the be on Food Stamps? In two words, ugly and embarrassing.
For some we go to the nearby grocery at odd hours so no one will see us using our Bridge Card or Food Stamps. For some going as far as using 24 hour shopping centers are ideal.
Then there is the forms one must go through every year. DHS knows full well if one is disabled yet the forms arrive.
Then when its all said and done a person may get his\her food stamps reduced.
One
How does one live on Food Stamps? In one word, gingerly.
Let's say your monthly allotment is $120. This means in a month that has thirty-one days a person has one
$3.870967741/day to spend.
This means that a person could only have one meal or less per day. This also means that if one wants to entertain friends s/he needs to cut back on what to eat days or months in advance.
More needs to be done for those who are disabled. And it ought to come with out pricetags.
What could be done? Let's start at the local level;
What about leaving a grocery bag or two of food at ones back door?
What about sending a gift card or two from a nearby grocery?
Think about this: the very person you are helping has as much pride as yourself. And receiving a gift may be just what the doctor ordered to build up ones moral.
Let's show the people of this planet that the people of the United States do care for our neighbor regardless of race, creed and or color.
Now what will you do for the disabled person in your community? After all that special person just may be a Wounded Veteran, or any number of people who need your help.
In Gods love

PS.
You also could help someone by mowing the lawn, raking leaves, doing home maintenance, putting out the garbage or any number of other things that need to be done around the house.
Simply WWJD to help the disabled and then do it.
