How to be
a Winner

If you ever played monopoly,
poker or any other game you know this one certain fact: you play not to
lose instead you play to win. The US Army went into World War Two not having
any intentions of losing. Instead they went to win and win they did.
2nd Timothy 6.12
12. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on
eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good
profession before many witnesses.
Ephesians 6.10-17
10.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his
might.
11. Put
on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of
the devil.
12. For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places.
13.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on
the breastplate of righteousness;
15. And
your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17. And
take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of
God:
Why should we stand and fight?
Why not just kick back and just let things fall where they will?
Ephesians 5.1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear
children;
For God is a victorious God. He
stands up for what He believes in. He is the one who died, rose again and
conquered death. He is the one who bore
the strips on his back so you can have healing. He is the one who has made it
possible that we can have life everlasting.
Listen
again to what Paul told Timothy.
1. Fight the good fight of faith
2. lay hold on eternal life
First, when you are fighting any
fight. you do not fight to lose. You fight to win. Allow me to inform you of
this very thing. THERE ARE NO LOSERES IN HEAVEN! There is only winners.
God loves a winner. You win by putting your faith into action. You put your
faith in action by using every piece of the armour of God. What are the essentials
of the armour of God? Lets read it again.
1. loins girt about with truth
2. having on the breastplate of righteousness;
3. feet shod with the preparation of the gospel
4. taking the shield of faith
5. take the helmet of salvation
6. and the sword of the Spirit
Just a note here. notice that
"faith is a shield." What do shield do? they protect. They are used
in a defence mode. In battle when arrows and darts are going at you, you hoist
up your shield to protect and cover you.
After some research, the breastplate was designed to have both a front and
backside to it. Just like you have a front and backside to a shirt. It was put
on over the head and there was straps on each side about waist high to synch
the covering on tighter. Its task was to protect and guard against any thing
that may try to injury the vital organs such as the heart, lungs and so forth.
the back protected your kidneys, spine and other vital organs.
Also the shield was not made out
of leather as some suggest. If this were true then the arrows, spears, axes and
maces would just go right through. Would you want such cheap protection. The
shield and the breastplates were made out of metal and weighted about 25 pounds.
Next all those movies you seen
where men wielding their swords with one hand is only a movie. Those swords
were very weighty and would weigh anywhere from twenty to thirty pounds. Thus,
a man of any size would need to use both hands to play the game of hack and
sack per se.
Therefore, beloved, you are one
very armed and dangerous person in the army of God. You have been give all the
weapons, both offence and defence that you will ever need to win the day.
When the enemy comes and says to
you that you are sick you can simply tell the enemy that you are healed
in the name of Jesus. For it was by HIS stripes we are healed as it is written
in Isaiah 53.5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was
bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and
with his stripes we are healed."
This healing includes every part
of our being not just the diseases that are in the world but also those that
affect our minds. God wants us to look and be like Him. and why not? after all
we were created in HIS image so that is what HE should see. That is what others
should see is God.
When they told me I was legally
blind I looked to the Answer giver. I read where Paul was blind and he seemed
to have greater insight to the Word. But I was not content I still looked for
an answer. Then one day I was watching an Evangelist on Television, his name
really does not matter, he said something that was profound that made me look
even deeper. He said “how can you minister healing to others when you yourself
are sick?” That is when I prayed that God would send me someone who was a
Christian to show me the way. And that is what God did.
In late January I had cryo-laser
surgery on both retinas to help make them stable. Three weeks later I had the
cataract and ocular lens transplant done. I healed ahead of schedule and on May
18th I had the left eye done. All because God made the way. All because I
learned to reach out to God, just like
the woman with the issue of blood. And let God be God.
Is this all a miracle? indeed it
is for if I had not taken God at His word. If I would have just settled for
second best I would still be legally blind, I would have lost the battle. And
because God is a winner that makes me a winner as well simply because I know
how important it is to put on the full armour of God.
What made the Roman Army so powerful?
They fought to win. A person in
the Roman Army was required to be enlisted for twenty-five years. Thus, you had
a choice; either you enlisted in the
army for the required twenty-five years
or be a gladiator for seven years. Either way you had to fight. And fight you
did to stay alive.
Are you armed and dangerous? You
bet you are. In fact you are so dangerous you should be on the FBI's most
wanted list. You should be so armed and
dangerous that your picture is on the local post office walls as being wanted
person.
Not long ago I heard the
following story;
Seems there was a father and son
took a trip to their nearby post office to send out some packages. The boy
passed by the wall of the FBI's most wanted. Underneath it read "armed and
dangerous." The young lad asked his father about the pictures and the
father had to explain why the men and women were on the wall. The boy pipes up
and asks his father "well if they were so dangerous why didn't they
capture them when they took their picture?"
Are you armed and dangerous?
According to the scripture you sure are. You are so well armored that you can
win the day.
Paul wrote;
"lay hold on eternal
life" Laying hold of something is a
action phrase it means you are willing to do anything to keep what you have.
Just like a mother will hold on to her child when going through a store or an
elevator. She does so so she will not lose her child.
Paul also wrote in Ephesians 6.10
"Finally, my brethren, be
strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might."
Notice it
says:
1.
be strong in the Lord
2.
in the power of his might
God wants His people, that's you,
to be winners, to be victorious. Regardless of the situation. Regardless the
circumstances, Regardless the condition.
God wants you to be a winner.
If you are sick. You can
overcome. There is healing for even you today. It does not matter what the
illness. God wants only the best for you.
IF you do not know Jesus as your
lord and personal saviour and you want
to join the winning side. I have great news for you. You can join the winning
side by accepting Jesus this very day into your heart and life. For today is
the acceptable day of salvation.
If you want healing in you
body God has already made a way for you.
for today is your acceptable day for healing. God does not give out second
bests. He has the best for you.
