Within the family of God everyone has his and or her own type of ministry that they enjoy. Furthermore, sometimes we find those who like the way we conduct our ministry and so we gain a following of some sort or another. Whatever, our ministry we all need to keep one thing in mind: we take part in the ministry because we love God and see that there is a need to be filled.
Allow me, if you will, to demonstrate what I mean: I know a pastor in southeastern Michigan who uses what is known as "In the box" ministry. Futhermore from what I have seen and the results that have taken part it works quite well. Because of this type ministry many have come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
On the other hand I love what I call the "popcorn ministry.' what it involves is rather simple. You go to a large event and you pop a tract in a persons hand. They in turn will either tuck it away for another place and time to read or read it on the spot. The tracts I use for this ministry come from www.chick.com and they yield results. It seems that these tracts produce a reading enjoyment as I has personally witnessed one tract being read over ten different times. Consider this, if one tract is read ten times think about the thousands that have been passed out over all and within a 15 year span.
As part of the family of God our main and forthright task is to reach the world for the Lord. It is after all part of the ministry of reconciliation that is talked about in 2nd Corinthians chapter five.
So here is a challenge: If you have not reached one person each year for the kingdom then I would clearly think something is wrong with the picture.
Now allow me to bring up the vision and goals of a ministry named Thunderdome Ministries Network Inc. The vision and the goals of this ministry is one that nearly no one wants to touch. Nor is it one that any other ministry is willing to invest in. Yet, and as hard as it is to believe it is a ministry that wants to help what Jesus Himself called "the least of these."
Thus, I would like you, the reader of this blog to take 30 minutes of your day and read over the vision and goals of Thunderdome Ministrires and then I urge you, as a member of the family of God to lend your support. However, do not lend your support just in word but do so in deed as well.
After all I believe that when it is all said and done God Himself just might say, "Well done my faithful servant."
